Companies expand use of digital adoption platforms

Heidelberg, November 28, 2023 – The market for digital adoption platforms has grown by 46 percent in just one year.  tts was named a Representative Vendor for second time in a row in the Gartner® “Market Guide for Digital Adoption Platforms”.

Companies are increasingly investing in or expanding their use of Digital Adoption Platforms (DAPs) to accelerate their digital transformation and quickly realize the impact of new technologies. This is mentioned in the "Market Guide for Digital Adoption Platforms" from Gartner®, which states: "Gartner estimates 2022 digital adoption platform market revenue to be approximately $646 million." This is up from $441 million the previous year. This means that the market has grown by approximately 46% in one year. 

Dr. Rolf Zajonc, Managing Partner at tts, is particularly interested in the trend of companies making broader use of an existing DAP. "Companies that start with a selective use of their DAP obviously quickly realize the enormous added value the solution can offer for the transformation of the entire organization," says Dr. Zajonc. 

DAP provides comprehensive help 

To achieve this, a digital adoption platform must offer more than just contextual support for users within individual applications. "Digital friction losses can only be minimized if a DAP offers cross-application support, i.e. is cross-application capable," says the Managing Partner of tts. 

Processes also change with the introduction of new technologies. Here, too, employees need support. "For this reason, a DAP must not only offer technology guidance, but also business guidance, i.e. contextual help with questions about processes, guidelines and regulations," explains Dr. Zajonc. 

DAP supports transformation - also with AI 

In the market study, a chart on the evolution of DAPs shows that the focus is shifting from application guidance and analytics to business and transformation support using artificial intelligence (AI). Here, the market study predicts: "By 2026, 40% of organizations will use generative AI supplied in their DAP platforms to automatically surface new workflows to employees." 

Digital adoption platform developers are therefore faced with the challenge of adding useful AI capabilities to their solutions. At the same time, they must ensure that the support provided remains consistent and accurate.
